Q: Where were you and what were you doing while taking this photo?
A: Sport climbing in Cougar Creek, near Canmore, AB.
What part of this photo do you like the most?
I love the tones I got from this roll of Fuji Superia. Muted, yet very distinct.
What kind of subjects attract your eye?
I try to capture my life, whatever that means at the time. This means my subjects vary considerably, but typically are interesting things I find in my environment, or the people I’m with.
What do you do to stay inspired to create?
I try to bring my camera with me whenever I’m doing something out of the ordinary, or novel.
What kind of films do you enjoy using most and why?
I jump around considerably, can’t say there’s any films I’ve sworn loyalty to.
What is your favourite lens and why?
I’m a really big fan of my Canon 28mm f2.8. The wide angle gives a very unique POV, and I’ve been enjoying experimenting with it at different distances from my subject.
Which other photographers or artists do you draw inspiration from and why?
There’s so many great photographers out there I’ve drawn inspiration from. If I had to name one though, I’d say Ansel Adams.
